Ever since I was little, I loved to read. Nothing was more exciting than going to the library to pick out some new books. I grew up reading the stories of authors like Tamora Pierce, Garth Nix, Terry Goodkind, Christopher Paolini, Rick Riordan, C.S. Lewis, R.L. Stine, and of course J.K. Rowling, among many others.
I’ve always had an appreciation for fantasy and sci-fi especially. There was no escape like the adventures of Alanna, Tal, Eragon and Harry, and their fantastic worlds. Their journeys were magical and captivating.
Knowing how much I loved these stories, I dreamed of the opportunity to share such an adventure with others- one that I would design.
“Dark Dreamer” was an idea that I came up with in college- one that I often mulled over, but was never certain would come to fruition. I doubted myself- believed that I would be unable to stick with it and finish an entire book. I had plenty of excuses- lack of time, energy and the like. Thankfully, I was able to push those doubts aside and finish the book anyway. The reason why? I had a dream and no matter what, I refused to let it go.
I hope you enjoy Garrett’s adventures as much as I enjoyed writing about them.
